Drafts 2-5 Guidelines

Purpose

Build your paper incrementally toward the final 1500-word version.

Requirements

Submission: Copy and paste your draft text into the Brightspace text submission box. Do not upload files.

Content: Each draft should extend the previous one (possibly with editing). You're building toward your final 1500-word paper.

Target Word Counts

• Draft 2: 750 words
• Draft 3: 1000 words
• Draft 4: 1250 words
• Draft 5: 1500 words

Grading

Each draft is worth 2 points:

• 2 points: Within 50 words of target (e.g., 700-800 words for Draft 2)
• 1 point: 51-100 words off target
• 0 points: More than 100 words off target or not submitted

Notes

• These drafts are about building content.
• Don't worry about polish - focus on developing your ideas.
• Include citations as you write. Adding them all at the end is much harder than citing as you go.
