2022 Midwest Dynamical Systems Conference

The 2022 Midwest Dynamical Systems Conference will be November 18-20 at IUPUI.   The conference starts at 3pm on Friday 11/18 and ends around noon on Sunday 11/20. 

Speakers:

 Travel and accommodations support is available for US-based people from the National Science Foundation grant DMS-2230827. Priority will be to graduate students, postdocs, and other early career mathematicians. Please apply by October 5th for full consideration.   

 We have arranged for some rooms in hotels near campus to be available at a discounted rate.   Reservations must be made before 10/19/2022.

The 33rd Fall meeting of the Semi-annual Workshop in Dynamical Systems and Related Topics

The 33rd Fall meeting of the Workshop in Dynamical Systems and Related Topics will take place on NOVEMBER 3 - 6, 2022. 
It will be dedicated to 75th birthdays of Michael Brin and Yakov Pesin.

All lectures will be held at the Mathematics Department (114 McAllister Building) at the Penn State University Park campus.

The 4th MICHAEL BRIN DYNAMICAL SYSTEMS PRIZE FOR YOUNG MATHEMATICIANS will be presented in the afternoon session on Saturday, November 5 followed by a
talk by the winner.

Dynamical Systems in honour of the 60th birthday of Marcelo Viana

October 2022 marks the 70th anniversary of IMPA's foundation. Over those seven decades, the institute established itself as an international center of excellence in mathematical research, with a strong impact in all of Latin America, namely through its track record in the training of young researchers from the region and other parts of the world. IMPA's wide range activities go much beyond, encompassing the publication of books and other educational materials, the training of school teachers, the technological collaboration with the Brazilian industry, the organization of nationwide school olympiads, and the active popularization of mathematics.

To mark the occasion, we are holding an international conference which will take place at IMPA's headquarters in Rio de Janeiro, from October 17 to 21, 2022. The conference will feature a large number of distinguished international participants, including Fields Medalists and Nobel laureate as invited speakers.

For the last several decades, the Dynamics group at IMPA has been organizing international conferences on a roughly quadrennial basis. In this year’s edition we take the occasion to celebrate the 60th birthday of Marcelo Viana.

The 2022 Northeast Analysis Network Conference

This is the first announcement for the 2022 NAN conference.

The Northeast Analysis Network (NAN) brings together once a year the Mathematical Analysis communities from New York, Connecticut, and other states. The NAN conference, rotating between the University of Rochester, Syracuse University, the University of Connecticut, and the University at Albany and held this year at the latter, is a forum for researchers at all career stages (finishing graduate students; post-docs; tenured and tenure-track faculty) to showcase their recent work, share ideas, and discover new synergies.


Two 50-minute lectures by a leading analyst, called the Excelsior Lectures after the New York state motto, serve as a catalyst for each edition. The first lecture is of expository nature and accessible to junior mathematicians and non-experts. This year, the Excelsior Lecturer is Sijue Wu from the University of Michigan.  The conference will include an outreach workshop (likely on the topic of tips and strategies for hiring and employment in academia), during lunchtime on September 17. There will be a conference dinner on the evening of September 16.


Partial financial support is available for junior mathematicians on a first-come, first-served basis thanks to the NSF grant DMS-1900688.

The goal of Simons Symposium on Algebraic, Complex and Arithmetic Dynamics is to formulate a vision for future developments in complex, algebraic, and arithmetic dynamics, with a focus on methods coming from complex dynamics. Organizers aim to take stock of recent developments in complex dynamics, but also explore the important role that complex methods play in questions of more algebraic or arithmetic nature.

Rényi Centennial Conference

This conference, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the birth of Alfréd Rényi, aims to represent modern probability, graph theory and networks, information theory, dynamical systems, number theory, and other fields in Rényi's spirit.  Plenary speakers and parallel sessions will explore the interconnections between these and other areas of pure and applied mathematics and show how Rényi's way of approaching mathematics as a whole determined the shape of these areas.

Adventurous Berkeley Complex Dynamics

This workshop will focus on complex dynamics in one and several variables. We will bring together experts in rational dynamics, transcendental dynamics, and dynamics in several complex variables in order to get new perspective and foster discussions in a warm and stimulating atmosphere. A special focus will be put on the interactions between one dimensional and higher dimensional complex dynamics, and on connections with adjacent areas of mathematics.
